
Hemorrhoids are the inflammation of the veins around your anus. They are commonly called piles and can be located both on the inside and the outside of your anus. The symptoms of internal and external hemorrhoids are pain and itching. Internal hemorrhoids can also cause bleeding.
Hemorrhoids can be caused by constipation, pregnancy, a low fiber diet, heavy lifting, a spicy diet, obesity, poor exercise, and diarrhea. Anyone can get hemorrhoids, but they are most commonly found in pregnant women.
There are many natural home remedies you can do to relieve the pain and itching caused by hemorrhoids. There are also natural home remedies you can take that can eliminate hemorrhoids and reduce the chance of hemorrhoids reoccurring.
Remedies to relieve hemorrhoids:
-Witch hazel. Keep a bottle of witch hazel chilled in the refrigerator. Apply it to a clean cotton ball and use on external hemorrhoids three times a day. This will help reduce the swelling.
-Aloe vera. Apply aloe vera gel directly to external hemorrhoids. This will reduce the burning itch.
-Cayenne and garlic. Using a cayenne and garlic enema will keep the bowels clean and reduce the pain caused by internal hemorrhoids.
-Cold compress. Using a cold compress on your anal area can reduce the swelling of hemorrhoids.
Remedies to eliminate and prevent hemorrhoids:
-Figs. Soak four dried figs overnight and eat in the morning on an empty stomach. Drink the water that they were soaked in. This contains a high quantity of fiber which is needed to prevent hemorrhoids.
-Foods high in bioflavinoids. Bioflavinoids strengthen blood vessel walls with will help eliminate current hemorrhoids and prevent further ones. Citrus fruits are high in bioflavinoids.
-Butcher’s broom. You can take butcher’s broom in capsule or tea form. The extract reduces inflammation and helps improve the tone of vessel walls.
-Water. Drinking at least eight glasses a day can help reduce constipation which is one of the causes of hemorrhoids.
-Exercise. Getting a proper amount of exercise can help prevent hemorroids.
It is important to get a proper diagnosis of hemorrhoids, especially internal hemorrhoids, from your doctor. Hemorrhoids are not usually serious, but anytime that there is blood in your stool, even if you think it is because of hemorrhoids, you need to be seen by your doctor since it could be a sign of something more serious.
